Cependant, en comparatif annuel, la progression est plut\u00f4t timide, une r\u00e9percussion persistante des probl\u00e8mes de production de la pand\u00e9mie, qui rappelons-le, ont r\u00e9duit les ventes d\u2019environ 1,5 million d\u2019unit\u00e9s. Cette faiblesse de l\u2019offre devrait persister, en particulier pour les v\u00e9hicules d\u2019occasion plus r\u00e9cents, avec la baisse des retours de location. La situation est d\u2019autant plus compliqu\u00e9e que le dollar canadien a perdu de sa valeur, ce qui devrait stimuler les exportations de v\u00e9hicules aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le segment du neuf, les prix ont termin\u00e9 l\u2019ann\u00e9e en l\u00e9ger repli, alors que les inventaires ont continu\u00e9 \u00e0 grimper. Les taux d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 l\u2019achat de v\u00e9hicules neufs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 en baisse, en accord avec les coupes d\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9es par la Banque du Canada. Toutefois, les ventes ont impressionn\u00e9 avec une forte progression au cours du trimestre, dominant les r\u00e9sultats du trimestre correspondant de 2024 et m\u00eame ceux de 2019. Malheureusement, le flou entourant l\u2019application de nouveaux tarifs douaniers par la nouvelle administration am\u00e9ricaine assombrit les perspectives 2025. Si cette situation mena\u00e7ante s\u2019estompe, la dynamique actuelle des ventes se poursuivra.<\/p>\n<p>Le prix moyen des v\u00e9hicules d\u2019occasion en d\u00e9cembre 2024 \u00e9tait en recul \u00e0 34 445 $, soit un pas pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9 de 6,6 % vers l\u2019arri\u00e8re, tandis que le prix moyen du neuf a moins souffert \u00e0 65 219 $, en baisse de 3,0 % sur un an. Si on utilise la m\u00eame lentille d\u2019analyse annuelle, on d\u00e9couvre que le prix moyen des v\u00e9hicules usag\u00e9s \u00e9tait en baisse de 12,1 %, la plus importante jamais observ\u00e9e. Les taux d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat des constructeurs ont poursuivi leur glissade \u00e0 4,6 %, par rapport au sommet r\u00e9cent de 6,2 %, en raison de l\u2019augmentation des inventaires de neufs et des r\u00e9ductions de taux d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat d\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9s par la Banque du Canada. Finalement, ces nombreux facteurs favorables ont rendu le march\u00e9 de l\u2019automobile plus accessible aux consommateurs canadiens.<\/p>\n<p><a
